The learning of Practice of Translation 1 Course is focused on the understanding and the application of Translation Theory for English and Indonesian language pairs. It is given in the third semester. The materials consist of some additional translation theories and its application. The students are given a lot of translation practices; Newspaper / Magazine, Advertisement / Brochure, Commerce / Business Letter, Literary Works and Journal, with any text, with different subject matter. Their translation will be discussed and corrected in the classroom.
By taking Theory and Practice of Translation 1 course, it is expected that the student understand translation theory and its application. In addition, by translating different subject matters, the students are familiar with specific terms and registers of a text. Finally, it is expected that the students are able to use computer to assist them in translation process.
